Foods to Promote Hair Growth

Ever wondered why your hair has been stagnant? Hair growth is tied to what you consume. You dont have to change everything. However, if you eat a healthier diet, you will grow stronger and healthier throughout your entire body inside and out. Genetics plays a role in this too regardless of what you eat. If you were born with fine thin hair you wont grow super thick hair, but with a well balanced diet that includes healthy food that will help you get healthy hair for hair growth.

Eggs - Eggs are an abundant source of proteins and nutrients that serve as “ hair food.” These nutrients help boost the rate at which your hair grows while promoting healthy new growth.

Walnuts, Cashews, Pecans, and AlmondsNuts are high in protein and zinc, and are great for promoting strong and slinky hair. Good nuts to add to your diet include walnuts, which are packed with omega-3 fatty acids and biotin

Kidney beans and Lentils - Kidney beans and lentils are greats sources of iron rich protein. Lentils in particular play a role in hair maintenance and support.

Salmon - Salmon is loaded with the strong hair supporters like Vitamin D and protein, but it also contains omega-3 fatty acids that promote hair growth by keeping your scalp healthy.

Spinach - Spinach is a healthy green vegetable that's loaded with beneficial nutrients like folate, iron, and vitamins A and C, all of which may promote hair growth . Vitamin A helps the skin glands produce sebum. This oily substance helps moisturize the scalp to keep hair healthy

Coconut Oil - Coconut oil promotes the scalp health fighting against problems such as insect bites, lice and dandruff. Coconut oil moisturizes dry hair. Coconut oil adds luster, shine and softness to the hair. Coconut oil prevents hairbreakage and split ends, contributing to hair length.

OatsThe nutrients in Oats make your hair stronger and scalp healthier. They also make it shinier and silkier.

Blueberries The proanthocyanidins, aka plant chemicals stimulate hair follicles which can promote hair growth.

Pumpkins - Pumpkin is a rich source of potassium, zinc and omega fatty acids. It reduces the inflammation of the scalp which aids in opening the follicle allowing new growth to emerge. 

Greek Yogurt - Greek yogurt has an ingredient that helps with blood flow to your scalp and hair growth.

These foods for hair growth will benefit your hair and skin. You can find everything above in the grocery store. I know it wont be easy to incorporate some of these foods in your diet but you should give it a try. Who doesnt want to see a difference in their hair, skin and overall health.
